Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club
Volleyball Tournaments 2005
Where we play
In 2004 we took part in Brentwood (veterans), Cambridge (mixed), Gloucester (men & mixed) & Poole
(men & mixed). Because players did not commit to the tournaments until too late, we were unable to get
into Bath and the men had to play out of their league in the top division at Poole. For
2005, the club has decided to enter the popular tournaments straightaway to guarantee our places.
See the tournament kit list and tips for people who have not been before.

Press release: Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club came 4th of 4 in the top division of the Surrey Tournament at Ashcombe, Dorking at the weekend. Vale lost to Wimbledon Wolves (50-59), Surrey Pumas (55-67) and Epsom Eagles (55-72). With many senior club members unavailable, a weakened Vale knew this would be a tough tournament but wanted the indoor pre-season competition rather than stepping down a division. Aylesbury can be pleased with staying in touch until the last few minutes in all the timed matches. With the tournament also being used for referee assessment, Vale found the stricter interpretation of handling faults by officials on their mettle a bit of a shock after the more lenient outdoor summer season.
