Tips for new players on what to bring,
or checklist for ageing players who tend to forget...

Housing
- Tent
- Bed
- Sleeping Bag
- Pillow
- Small mahogany table (that may just be me...)
Clothing
- Hat - eg baseball
- Sunglasses
- Kneepads, supports, trusses etc as required
- Shorts, T-shirts, socks, trainers (you probably guessed this)
- Something for the evening (smarter if we go out, warm if it is cold)
- Something for the week-end (if you are lucky at the disco)
Beer Food
- Beer
- Money for more beer
- Bottle opener for beer
- Cool box for beer
- Freezy things for coolbox for beer
- Dry ice to refreeze freezy things for cool box for beer (if you can get it).
- Chair for beer (see sundry section below)
- Crisps, nuts etc (anything which goes well with beer)
- Vodka jelly - in case you are tired of beer and want food
- Chocolate
- BBQ food & gear, if you are keen
- Most places have available breakfast to buy, or several people bring their own.
- Lunch is normally bought at the event (some people bring their own)
- Evenings - a choice
- Eat by tent (BBQ or other)
- Eat in clubhouse
- Go into town and explore local cuisine. Possibly take in some beer / punting / swimming depending on where it is.
Sundry
- Sun tan lotion!
- Chair - some kind of portable chair is good, ideally with a pocket to hold beer.
- A volleyball per team is essential - MARKED CLEARLY WITH NAME!
- Silly games - eg shine in the dark frisby
- Whistle - for refereeing duties
- Gazebo - one or two between us is very useful when sunny (or rainy).
- Towel(s) & wash kit
- Torch / lantern
- Bin bag
- First aid kit (would be useful, although I don't think anyone has ever taken one).
- Water bottle - it is easy to dehydrate
- Some kind of rucksac is useful to carry around all of your useful things...
- mega-loud Ghetto blaster, loaded with Wagner (as counter-measure against loud neighbours playing Kylie Minogue)
- Ear-plugs in case the neighbours, or the disco, are winning after all.
- Mug - for scrounging a cup of tea from someone who has mastered fire.
- Tape to strap fingers together (if you are into that kinky stuff)
Sportset are usually in attendance to sell shorts, shirts, shoes, hats,
sunglasses, balls, whistles etc. Or you can plan ahead and shop www.sportset.co.uk.
