Aylesbury Vale Volleyball ClubFixtures & Results 2005/6We play in the Herts Volleyball Association Men's League Division 2 (with a mixed team) and Knockout Cup. Our home matches are on Sundays at 6pm at Halton, whilst away matches are weekday evenings or weekend afternoons/evenings. We don't currently have a ladies' team in the league, but there is now sufficient interest that we've started playing friendlies. Our opponents in Division 2 are Barnet, Harriers Hawks & Harriers Jets (2 teams from the same St Albans' Harriers club), Rudolf Steiner (based on the Kings Langley school and including former students), Watford, Welwyn & Hatfield (2 teams from the Welwyn & Hatfield club). Other teams in the league and potential cup opponents are Milton Keynes, Abbey (based on the bank, and also from Milton Keynes), Berkhamsted, Enfield & Luton (the latter 2 both playing in Herts Sports Village in Hatfield). We finished second in the league: Played 14, Won 10, Lost 4; we finshed equal on league points with Welwyn with the same sets for and against but they took the title based on the results of our individual matches; we went out of the cup in the first round to Hatfield, which acted as an early season wake-up call for the league campaign where we conceded the title to Welwyn in our last match of the season.
