Woodrow, Away, 8th March 2004 Match Report3-2 WinAn excellent team display pulled off a really hard fought match after going 2-1 down, with very close scoring in each set. We managed to dig deep and everyone played 100%. Sophie and Brian managed to cope with being hit very hard (!) by their only real spiker, once we had worked out how to handle him we dominated the last 2 sets. Excellent setting (Sara/Sophie) provided myself and Jem the opportunity to really hit some good spikes, also Brian, (once he had calmed down!!!) hit some good winners and with Paul (who kept reminding us he had not lost a match) scraping and chasing every ball in the back court, we eventually won 3-2. Move of the night had to be the Captains choice of ends for the last set, although winning the toss, elected not to take the serve, but to play so that we ended up at our best end to finish and win the match.
Well played everyone. |
